Subject: [ccumc-ls] 2011 Conference Early Registration and Conference Workshops

Time is quickly running out to take advantage of the early registration rates
for the upcoming 2011 CCUMC Annual Conference. This year’s conference will take
place at the beautiful Pearl South Padre Hotel located on South Padre Island,
Texas. The Program Committee and local hosts South Texas College have spent
the past year planning a conference packed with great speakers, interesting
sessions, and fun-in-the-sun activities. Beautiful South Padre Island is the
jewel of the Texas Gulf Coast and boasts warm waters, plenty of sun, and a mild
October climate perfect for our conference!

Conference workshops take place on Wednesday, October 5, and are a steal at
only $50 per workshop session! This year, the conference workshops include a
diverse set of topics presented by several outstanding educators.

Sessions include:

Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Copyright (But Were Afraid to Ask):
Jonathan Brand (PolicyBandwidth.com and Georgetown University Law Center)

InfoComm Certified Technology Specialist Preparation: AV Project Phases and
Documentation: Andre LeJeune (InfoComm)

Streaming Video (Soup to Nuts): Sandra Miller and Jane Hutchinson (William
Patterson University)

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
