Greetings:

A faculty asked me for, "...I could use some additional* visual
resources*such as
*talks by working producers or lighting directors* or anything on *budgeting
or scheduling or working with guild and talent*."

I recommend:

   - Criterion Editions have a lot behind the scenes interviews as special
features on their discs / search the catalog & look for TOC or special
   features

Places I've purchased from:

   - Videomaker http://www.videomaker.com/store/instructional-videos
   - First Light Video: How-to videos
   http://www.firstlightvideo.com/Digital_Video_Production.html (no dates
   on their online catalog)
   - Focal Press: How-to books and resources
   http://www.focalpress.com/film_video/
   - Vortex Media (more camera guides than interviews):
   http://www.warmcards.com/
   - FFH http://ffh.films.com/Subject.aspx?psid=1219&SubjectID=1223

Streaming ideas (talks with folks in production):

   - Archive of American Television
   http://www.emmytvlegends.org/about-the-archive (the prof is a member &
   pointed me to this)
   - Paley iCollection (we're inquiring about this -- does anyone have it?)

We have a lot of production books from Focal Press and the Faber & Faber
Projections series I'll mention, too.

Am I missing anything?

Thanks for your input.

Sincerely,

Cathy

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
