Hello, Nicholle,

Bullfrog Films offers two titles: "The Long Walk to Freedom"
http://www.bullfrogfilms.com/catalog/long.html
A story of 12 ordinary people who accomplished extraordinary things in the
Civil Rights movement.

"Home of the Brave" http://www.bullfrogfilms.com/catalog/hob.html
Told through the eyes of her children, this critically acclaimed film examines
the case of Viola Liuzzo, the only white woman murdered in the Civil Rights
Movement, and reveals why we hear so little about her. A 39-year-old mother of
five from Detroit, she joined thousands of people in Selma, Alabama for the
historic Voting Rights March in 1965. Shortly after it ended, she was shot in
the head by a car full of Klansmen, while driving on a deserted highway. J.
Edgar Hoover immediately mounted a smear campaign to divert attention from the
fact that a key FBI informant was in the car with Liuzzo's killers. This
gender-based discrediting of her name has succeeded up till now in robbing
Viola Liuzzo of her rightful place in our history.

We have trailers for both of these films on our web site. Let me know if you
have any questions.

Subject: [Videolib] Whites and Civil Rights

Hello -
I'm helping a patron look for documentaries that show whites working towards
civil rights equality in the 1960s American south. Can you provide any
suggestions?
We would like items that are easy to purchase and/or interlibrary loan, if
possible.
  Thank you for any help,

Nicholle

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
