Actually I think you have made a rather good job of it - especially the really awkward chord at the beginning of the last stave which comes out of the blue. I have to pause there and think about where to put my fingers. And I only put it out last night! The slightly odd harmonic shifts seem to be for real.

I think his music doesn't always lie on the fingerboard in a very convenient way - possibly because he was a lutenist rather than a guitarist and perhaps because the pieces were originally for lute and he was not a particularly skilled arranger.

Corbetta's music is very difficult to play but it always seems to be completely logical in the way it moves about the fingerboard.

Keep trying - there are two more movements.

Quite strange - even for him? I looked at the Prelude and the harmonies and immediately wondered if a low fifth would be in order. So I bunged on one. Not so sure. Anyway - here's a go at the prelude - can't really make sense of it.Maybe somebody else will have a crack at it!

Stuart
I wonder if there are any twitchers on this list (Stuart perhaps
No - but have many other failings
). I
was thrilled to see a whole flock of redwing on a tree in my back
garden this morning and can't resist the urge to tell the world.

I live in the least desirable part of the London Borough of Islington
where things like that never happen.
