gvim: menu disappeared

File, Edit, and so on) disappeared. I tried several options of the "set guioptions" command, but to no success. I also deleted the .vimrc file, but again no change. Then, installed vim-X11 again, but nothing happened. May I ask your kind help? Thank you! guido, from Italy ----

ars. In Linux you should be able to use Gentium, I believe, but personaly I prefer a fixed font and use "Bitstream\ Vera\ Sans\ Mono" with excellent results. If you use also LaTeX set inputenc to utf8x (not simply utf8). HTH, gm PS sent as CC to A.J.Mechelynck who may be interested.

I suggested Bitstream Vera Sans Mono for Greek because it's particularly good-looking for Greek, while CFourier New looks a bit "strange".
