Recently I've been getting this E763 error when I turn "spelllang=he" on. It
complains about the Hebrew dictionary.
Since it didn't use to do this, I wonder why it does now. Using the latest Vim.

I had this error in terminal vim, while MacVim.app was fine.
I fixed it by copying some English spell files from
MacVim.app/Contents/Resources/vim/runtime/spell to ~/.vim/spell
I decided to post this solution because it worked for me, while i could not try
Bram's suggestion because i am not fam

Try
luded by default, Vim downloads and
installs it automatically at ~/.vim/spell/de.utf-8.spl (also the
suggestions file at ~/.vim/spell/de.utf-8.sug).
Spell-checking does work fine for both languages, however, every time I
enable spell-checking I get
