We reset the PRAM first, to make sure we didn't need to take more drastic
measures. It worked, and we now have a happily booted Mac. =) Saying no
OS, but its running. We can handle it from there. Thank you!

Reseat video card, check monitor with another Mac. If no video card check
capacitors or any chip that may have become unseated. Pram battery as already
stated but still should show some video.

We've used Classic Macs in the past, but I won't be afraid to say we might
be having a stupid moment
We've dealt with classic Macs before, but its been a while. We got a
Quadra 900 with parts and a monitor for free today. When booted, it makes
the startup chime and sounds normal, but the monitor refuses to turn on or
refuses to stay on when we turn it on ourselves. Any help?

The problem was a badly leaking battery with liquid acid and rust all
around that area and the logic board. Another one for the trash. thx for
all your advice. I didn't know there was a non-accessible battery inside
the case that should have been removed for long term storage.
