have the CC apartbetter now then when they create a problem. I agree
with you saying to discharge the CRT. Got a rubber mat and electrical
gloves so I should be safealready had one heart attack...don'
Hi all,
While I am waiting for my new capacitors I ordered to recap the
motherboard, I thought I would apply a retrobright treatment to the outer
casing ( I just finished one of my Apple IIc's and it came out looking
like new). I removed the CC's back shell casing and spotted four screws
that

Well, the caps came off without a hitchI used two 25w pencil solder
guns and wife method ( had her pull up gently with a needle nose as I
heated both sides of the pad. Jeff thanks for recommending the liquid
solder flux...picked up some this morning at Radio Shack. Since I found my

One last questionI am sitting here looking at the caps...they are
seated in black plastic squares that are notched on the two sides aligned
with the pads. if I get what you all are saying then I am cutting the top
of the can off then removing the outer wall and bottom of the capI am

Plan on removing the caps tomorrow, hopefully that will go well :) then
decide which caps to get and order them. Since I have the CC apart I
thought I would give it a face lift and retrobright the outside

Hi all,
I recently took my Colour Classic out of ten years of storage, booted it up
with a boot disk and loaded OS 7.5.3. I ordered a pram battery for it and
thought I was good to go. Two days ago it refused to boot from the key
board. I checked some old troubleshooting threads on a few foru
