LC III monitor compatibility

2010-05-31 Thread Glen Waterman
I recently bought a used LC III, but it was the machine only. I have no monitor for it, but I hear the boot chime when it's powered on, so I'm assuming it works fine. My question is, since the video out is 15 pin (8/7), can I just get an adapter from that to VGA (5/5/5) and use an old (non-Apple) C

There are many such adapters available on ebay and other places that should work fine. I have one I use to connect my Performa 6100/66 to a VGA CRT monitor. It should work fine as long as the monitor supports the same resolution or one near it. I think my adapter works with my LC II, but I can't sa

The 6100 has a different connection than the LC models have. >There are many such adapters available on ebay and other places that >should work fine. I have one I use to connect my Performa 6100/66 to a >VGA CRT monitor. It should work fine as long as the monitor supports >the same resolution or o

Yes, there are adapters which convert the Mac monitor pinout into a VGA connector. They often have dip switches to control the resolution, and work fine with every Mac! (I tried one in a LC and it worked perfectly with my 17'' Nokia, which only has VGA connection) - of course, I was working with 64

Hi ! This is hard to describe. Its name is HDI-45. The one end has the common 7+8 pin VGA 'female' connection; the other end (the whole thing is 19 cm long). Looks like this: http://retromaccast.ning.com/photo/one-and-a-half-dollars-pm The phto shows the back of the 6100. 13 of the connections a

I use a UniMacFly Apple to VGA adapter that I purchased here: http:// groups.google.com/apple_vga_adapter, and hooked up a Dell flat panel. The resolution is only 640x480 at this point, but I haven't messed with the DIP switches much. Regardless, it looks great - and saves a LOT of desk spac

My Unimac adapter has the labeling for the dip switches in a sticker placed inside the lid which covers the dip switches... I've chosen the 21'' Apple display, so I can get 1152x864 (I think the numbers are correct) on my beige G3 (only at thousands of colors, the machine came without the VRAM upgr

Here's how I did it with my 6100. I had the funky apple adaptor to convert from the wierd audio/video signal to a regular mac video port. Then I just got a *really* simple adaptor from ebay to convert to regular VGA (HD15). I set the resolution to whatever the LCD liked, and I was good to go. Pro

True, but I am using the HDI-45 to normal macintosh video (rgb?) and a macintosh to vga adapter. That works. On Jun 1, 5:04 pm, reusenkne...@online.de wrote: > The 6100 has a different connection than the LC models have. > > >There are many such adapters available on ebay and other places that > >

How did we get sidetracked from the LC III to the 6100? The 6100's port was so apple could bundle in a nice monitor with built-in speakers that worked with the 6100. One cord carried both video and audio. The LC III if im not mistaken didn't have this connection. My 610,660AV and the other older
