I have a 80 MB Jasmine external HD which I haven't used in a long
time.
As I recall, to use it you have to have some driver software on your
internal HD else the computer will not find or recognize the external
Jasmine drive. I do have that driver software on my IIsi which I use
frequently
Given that you have a classic, you can try the unique trick of holding
down CMD-OPT-X-O at startup to boot off ROM. Unfortunately, one of the
reasons an old startup disk can't be found is that its died. Hopefully
its something more mundane, like a bad SCSI ID (don't use 0 or 7 as a
rule of thumb).
