Sorry, I mis-spoke. What I intended to say was how does one connect a gateway and cable to a Quadra 610. When I was up and running about 9 years ago I had a 56K modem connected to the back of my Quadra and I got the internet OK that way. On my Quadra there is a connector on the back with a <---> m

That's an AppleTalk port, that was what was used before Ethernet on Macs. There are adapters (from Apple) that can convert AppleTalk to Ethernet. I'm not sure if plugging the cable modem into that would actually work; I think it probably depends on what OS you're running. -Elliott
