Monitor won't power up from standby on boot

I have an LCIII, given to me by my brother-in-law, and now the monitor stays always in standby. I tried replacing the barrel battery, zapping the PRAM and the AV... no luck. short of swiping someones monitor and trying things out, is there anything I should try? Best Regards, David -- Vinta
