Does the CD for AUX 3.0.1 or the 3.1 upgrade need to be bootable or any
other special or is it just s straight HFS CD?

The CDs aren't bootable. You need a boot floppy to install A/UX.

Ah, OK. I was asking so I know when I'm writing the images to CD, not
for installing. I have the floppy image so that is ok.
