All there ever was in the cheap end was the Media
Vision Pro Audio Spectrum 16 or PAS16. The drivers
fail to work right above System 7.5.3, IIRC.
As for the much higher (priced) end, Digidesign was
a big player

Go on eBay and get your self an Audio Media II card by Digidesign. It is a
NuBus card and has stereo RCA Analog inputs and outputs along with RCA
Stereo SPDIF Digital outputs. The sound quality is excelent as it can do
48Khz sample rate (the DAT standard) If you get one I can provide the
drivers.

I was hoping for stereo sound, plus sound input would be nice so I can use
the videospigot card I have in the corner.
The built-in sound is stereo.
