Wait, it *adds* internal greyscale??

The IIsi (or IIfx) ROM simm in an SE/30 makes it 32 bit clean and allows
the SE/30 to run 7.6.1, 8.0, or 8.1.
This is not a rumour. I've done it. With internal grayscale.

Bryan, the IIsi was notorious for it's inconsistent sound quality or lack of
sound for that matter. The best way to fix it was to ignore the built-in
speaker and just use external ones. I bought a cheap pair ($10) for mine,
plugged it into the head phone jacks on the back and the sound was fine

Some people have been able to
It's been proven, years ago. I have two of them.

Potentially a lot to an SE/30 owner. Perhaps you'd like to test the rumour
that it makes an SE/30 32-bit clean, or lend it to someone trustworthy who
can? pickle or Gregg might try; I've got an SE/30
I tried to set up a couple of IIsi Macs as word processors, but 4 out of
5 had problems.
On 3 of them the power circuit does not work: the Mac turns on as soon as
you plug it in, and does not turn off when you Shut Down. I know about
the always-on switch and it was in the out position.
