First thing is you should leave the System Folder where it is and don't try making an alias to it. :) It's easy enough to doubleclick the hard drive then locate the System Folder. To install most control panels and extentions just drag them onto the System Folder and it will ask you if you want

situation would be to use the finder to locate your system folder, open the whole folder on the desktop, pull the system folder file out to the desktop, close the window of the system folder behind it, and then create alias for that one file while they are out on the desktop. But, why? Just
