Dag jongens, The 1.5.2-version of the Netbsd operating system for 68k Macs contains the cute little program NetBSD_ROM for checking the ROM of the Mac on which you want to install Netbsd. It just lists ROM information. Such a list of ROM-contents could be useful for other purposes as well I think.
The program should be used with caution: the external hard disc of my Quadra 700 became invisible after this program crashed. I had to use Norton Disc Doctor to mount the disc again; Mt Everything and SCSI probe couldn't do the trick. I think you have to turn file sharing off before running it. NetBSD_ROM 's list on my Quadra 700 had a warning at the end: >Basic hardware required for NetBSD/mac68k is present, but the following > things might be problems that need to be considered: > SCSI uses an unsupported NCR 53C96 controller > ADB interrupt address is required Does anyone of you know how severe these problems are? I couldn't install NetBSD 1.5.0 on this machine. Bij voorbaat dank, Norbert -- Vintage Macs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
