I don’t believe a phone number has anything to do with the Skype service. You can purchase a plan and use their service exclusively for about twenty bucks a year and get US and Canadian Unlimited calls to land and cell phones, and still a number is not necessary. Even if you use their SMS

I use Skype on an iPod Touch and it works fine. The only time you need a number, is if you want to receive calls through a number, rather than your email address or Skype name. If you buy Skype credits, you can even call land line phones using your Skype account. Richard Noun: trumpery 1.

Yes, if you have something like GoldWave, you can save the file as an m4a file, then change the extension to m4r and put it in the automatically add to iTunes folder. Run iTunes, it will then show up in the Tones folder and you can sync your phone and then choose that ringtone. This is assuming
