For those who are interested, here’s the WSJ article on smart TVs I mentioned
earlier. It’s behind a paywall though. We’ve got a regular 50” HD tv we bought
just over 2 years ago and a 4K 55” Ultra HD smart TV we scored on a deal last
year. Again though, my wife’ just finds it easier to connect
Exactly. Between the ridiculous cost, the built-in obsolescence, the security
risks if it’s connected to the Internet, it just does not make sense. Honestly,
if they made appliances talk, I would not have a problem interacting with them
up close and personal, never mind Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or anyth
I’m not even going to argue over the point of a fridge being smart. I mean,
personally, I think it’s dumb or at least hype, but that’s just me. I’m
incredulous over the idea of a smart range or washer/dryer. After all,
someone’s got to put the clothes or food in them. No app or smartphone’s ever
Christopher, the amount of time saved by being able to use a washer as a post
to handwashing and then using a ringer to dry is exponential. You’re probably
not old enough to remember that. A smart refrigerator is stupid. I’m sorry, but
nobody needs to have the contents of the refrigerator displa

Mike, I have the same experience you describe. However, if, after Idelete the

not just the new message. There are three or four friends and family Members

This attitude has always perplexed me. I don't see people complaining
about clothes washers so they don't have to wash everything by hand, or
clothes dryers so they don't have to hang their clothes on a clothes
line, or dishwashers so they don't have to wash their dishes by hand, or
TV remotes
I found this in my files. It works.

Hi,
One possible work around:
1. bring up the list of months.
2. Select current month (or another month where you know you have an event).
3. You should then have a month screen with all the days showing. Before

hi, I’ve had my Whirlpool dishwasher since 1992. It still works like a charm.
When you buy new appliances these days, they don’t last as long as the older
ones do now. Anyway, just thought I would put my two cents in. Thanks. Esther

Hi Sandy,
After you delete a text message, do you get the prompt asking if you would
like to delete this conversation, or something along that line? I'm running
an S E iPhone with 12.1.2 and whenever I delete a text I get this prompt so
I swipe right 1 time, double tap and that thread is gone

I couldn’t agree with you more. I think the whole Smart appliance thing is
incredibly over sold. I mean really. A smart refrigerator? Who really needs
that? The description of what you could do with that Samsung refrigerator just
made me scratch my head and wonderment as to why anybody would spe

Interesting article I thought I’d post.
I know the topics of things like the Instant Pot and other smart
appliances/devices around the house have come up before and the concern
about whether they’d still be accessible after X period of time. I’m
perfectly happy with my instant pot Bluetooth and a
My calendar app used to show appointments in a wonderful list. Now it lists
each date, indicating how many appointments I have on that day. And yes, the
List option reads as Selected. I have unselected and reselected the List
option, but to no avail.
How do I get my nice listview back?

When you go to "Settings->Battery->Battery Health" what does the phone say
"Maximum Capacity" is? And the next major line down where it says "Peak
Performance Capability" ..the small text underneath that heading should say

Sherry, Hide Alert is supposed to get rid of the sound alerting you that a
new message has come in. Perhaps when you changed the setting and still got
the sound, you had the person re-text you too quickly for the change to take
effect? I am speculating here.
I have a different objection t
What issues? I have the iPhone XR and after shutting it down I hold the side
button for a count of 3 then let go and it starts right up.
