Hi Richard. I have an iphone 11 Pro and my voice keeps changing. It's the
same as your client I just like the Siri male voice to work cinsistently, it
only seems to happen when I restart my phone or if I'm using a braille
display and I turn the speech back on after turning off my display.

I thought in iOS 14 there will be an Apple translator app which is supposed to
allow for conversational translations. If your niece's foster child is coming
in a few weeks iOS 14 might be out.
Apart from that Richard's suggestion or also Google Translate would be a good
start.

Yes, iOS 14 will have a built-in translator that says that online translation
will be more accurate, but allows for downloading languages for offline
translation I believe.

I use the SIRI Female voice on my iPhone 8 and I have not noticed any issues
since th e 13.6.1 update, it's using SIRI Female always.
