To me it sounds like you are having conflicts between the VoiceOver
voices and the voice that iOS downloads to use for Siri. If you
replaced the files inside the en-US folder and your region/language
settings are set to United States English then I'm correct.

new languages are, the only thing you can't change is what VoiceOver reads
when accessing that voice through the rotor. So, for example, if you
replace the Australian English voice files with the Sangeeta voice,

voices with their premium variants, just delete the compact voice files and
upload the premium voice files instead.
