Hello Casey, The model of the router is, for the most part, irrelevant, these days as they change so frequently.
What is important is the functionality you seek. For example, you may simply want a basic WiFi router which can cost as little as $25. On the other hand, you may choose to purchase a dual band router which can cost as much as $200. I am basing these estimates on Best Buy as of 2 weeks ago, here in southern California. So, it comes down to what you want and how much you can afford. The good news is the following: 1. The interface to all Cisco routers can be accessed through your preferred web browser and are completely VoiceOver and Jaws for Windows accessible. After attaching the router to any computer, via Ethernet cable, from within your browser go to http://192.168.1.1 in order to bring up the router's interface. 2. While the routers ship with an included setup CD, because of the built-in server, there really is no need to install it on your computer. 3. Their customer service is among the best I have ever used. Virtually all of their reps will provide comprehensive support, 24 hours a day. This is no doubt the result of the staggering lawsuit, lost by Linksys, many years ago. 4. As with the base router, the extenders come in varying flavors, as well. One model will only boost one signal while another model provides dual signal boost. 5. Once the extender is configured, it is virtually invisible to all devices in the area, save the base router. 6. Should you purchase a Cisco router, I strongly urge you to immediately register the device with Cisco and contact their customer service for any assistance. They really will take good care of you. Oh, one more thing, you must connect the router and/or the extender to a computer (using an Ethernet cable) in order to configure it for uce, via the web browser.
