I haven't tried that app in a while. When I did try it, it was not very
accessible. And now, Google has done away with it on android. They have
newsstand which combines magazines and currents. And that is supposedly coming
to iOS next year.

Yes, I just read about Newsstand. This is why I wanted to try Currents, but as
you say, the text of periodicals is completely inaccessible. In Newsstand for
Google, I subscribed to the free version of the New York Times, but haven’t
checked it out yet from my desktop browser.
