Greetings,
As promised, I am writing about the Backbeat Sense Bluetooth headphones from Plantronics that I received yesterday. These are over the ear headphones that claim 18 hours of talk time, have a microphone and Plantronics usual attention to detail with the spoken prompts about battery, pairing, etc. I had a pair of Bose Mobile over the ear headphones that I really loved, but they were only wired. They died recently after 7 years of daily use. I was looking for a stereo headphone that had Bluetooth when I came across these. Regular Price, $179. (That is what I paid for the Bose 7 years ago. B&H Video/Audio in New York has some for $116. They come with the micro USB cable for charging, but no wall charger. They offer one, which we bought, for $6.00. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1180629-REG/plantronics_202649_01_backbeat_sense_wireless_headphones.html They come in a very nice box, with also a very nice carrying case. The selling point for me was that they can connect with two different Bluetooth devices. The delightful surprise that I discovered when I opened the box is that they also have a 3.5 to 3.5 MM cable so you can use them as wired headphones. What they say about that in the documentation is that you can use them when the battery dies. So, in actuality, you can use them with three devices. I would say the sound quality for listening is almost, if not as good as, the Bose were. They are very comfortable, and the over the head band is adjustable. They feel like they are made from very high quality material. The 3.5 MM cable plugs into the bottom of the right ear cup. The cable has the microphone and buttons on it that work much the same as the iPhone Airpods. They take about 3 hours to fully charge. I have not run them down on the battery yet. The microphone sounds fine. I did a couple test calls with my wife on Bluetooth and she had no trouble hearing me. They do block out most of the surrounding sounds, so I won't be using them while walking down the street. I am quite impressed in my first day of having them.
