As I understand it, you just go TapTaptapTap like with a real keyboard.

I was typing something on the on screen keyboard earlier and I wanted to delete
a bunch of letters at a time.
I remember reading something earlier but couldn’t find it. I used to be able
to double tap and hold the delete key to delete a bunch of letters but this
isn’t the way anymore.
