I am having the same problem and using the app switcher did not fix it for me
either.

Thanks Donna. Jenny, your suggestion worked the first time, but the
next time, it crashed when I tried to go to my news feed. I accessed
it in the App Switcher, the app crashed again. Oh well; hopefully the
next app update will fix it. Looks like I'll be accessing it on the
web for the time being.

I'm not having this problem with the latest Facebook update. I have an iPhone 7
running IOS 10.3.1. I do find it strange & interesting that some people are
experiencing Facebook crashing while others are not.

I had a similar expouience, but my FB reopened after I got out and back into it
with the App Switcher. Sorry it isn't working at all for you.
