After reading your post Andy, I opened Uber and didn't see it either. So, it
must only be in certain cities like the last post stated.

There might also be a certain time of the day it is offered. I've seen
Uber Austin advertise it on their Twitter feed, mostly after 7 on
Friday or Saturday nights. This makes sense since these are higher
demand times for services like Uber.

And, the company is totally quiet on the issue. They don't give an option
for tipping and say it isn't required. I've had one driver refuse sighting
company policy, but, every other one has gratefully accepted. Either it is
or it is not acceptable, and the company should clearly say so.
Hi Keith,
As others have said, the app will charge your credit card automatically at the
end of the ride. You will see a request to rate your driver and your receipt
presented on a screen within the app shortly after the ride is complete. You
should also receive a copy of your receipt via
There are gray areas because of the fuzzy relationship between the company
and the drivers.

If you want a cheaper Uber ride, they have an option called Uber Pool, which is
a shared ride where you might have another rider sharing the car. The fare is
about a third less than an Uber X fare. Most of the time I have had direct
rides, and never more than one other rider.

How do you find Uber pool in the app? I have never seen it but I would love to

The fixed tip thing in Uber is only for actual taxis that some cities let
you book with Uber. Otherwise, there is no tip option.

Is this a sarcastic post to the list? If so, I don't think sarcasm works
well on mailing lists, and I'd suggest the list could be used for more
constructive and mature posts. If someone doesn't like a post then they
can always use the delete key.

Hi,
I've got my app all set up and I'm ready to go.
Can someone please explain to me what happens, or what I need to do, at the end
of the ride to make the payment? How can I add a tip?
If my wife and I take the ride, the price is for the ride, and not per person,
right?
