I have this app, but it only gives you a one time measure. Not suitable for
continuous monitoring.

The following information is important for all
If you are running iOS 8, the Health app by Apple which is already on the
iPhone will give you the heartrate info. I do not have a heartrate monitor, so
am not conversant with what info is provided, or any settings one may be able
to set with it.

Are there any accessible apps that work with heart rate chest strap monitors?
If so, what info do these apps provide? Do they simply show your heart rate, or
do they also enable you to set a heart rate target range for the monitor and
then give an indication when your hr goes above or below this
Make sure your finger that you use is not cold and don't press too hard.

Thanks Troy, I'll have to check this one
Rick, Have you ever riddin on a recumbent tandem bike? I did for a short time
about 15 years ago and I'd have to say it was the most fun I ever had on a
tandem.
You lie back on the bike almost as you would on a doctor's bench then put your
hands under you (feels a bit awkward at first).
But the
Hopefully it won't be too bad. I won't be doing very rigorous workouts.
Really just a cardiovascular deal on a recumbent exercise bike.

Barry,
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely check this one out. Where
does the monitor itself get placed on your body? Is it on the chest, or
wrist perhaps?

I prefer to use my iPod nano 7 Gen with a heart rate monitor as I'm scared to
drop my phone when using the tread mill. An I pod nano is cheaper to replace if
it gets damaged.

what type to set up when you are doing a round of different type
