ended up having to do a restore, however not all my settings have been returned
as they were. Can anyone remind me how to change back to touch typing mode? I

Well, that's what you have to do. Make sure your edit field is active by
double tapping in it. After that, use the roter to get to typing and
then flick up or down to toggle between standard and touch typing.
