Hi,
Try touching the screen in the middle while the book is open. This should bring
focus to the text. You will then be able to read it with your braille display.

I have a PDF adobe text file I imported into Ibooks. I paired the
focus 40 with my Ipad. While the various buttons show up in Braille,
none of the text shows up though voiceover reads it just fine. Is
