Apple supports phones for five years. The 16 GB 4s sells on eBay for
$250. If you can’t save up for a 5s and desperately want to get into
an iPhone now, then go with the 4s. Realize support will end in two
to three years, but it is a lot less money when being bought used. If

If money is not the issue I'd rather have the 5c because it is faster,
has a better camera, has room for more icons on each screen, and a bit
better battery. I agree with others that I don't like the plastic case
either but that is what most other phones have as well.

when I put the two phones together, the 4 and the 5c, they are the same width,
but the 5c is a bit longer.
I had to get a case for my new 5c because I kept dropping it. the plastic
makes it a little slipperier then my old 4 was. the case solved the dropping
problem. I just got a cheap $5 cas
I'm with you. Not saying this is a barrier but was going to go for a 5
myself but with the thinness and lightness was worried it could slip out
of my hand and break. Don't feel that vulnerable with the 4s.

Well i feel the 4s is better as it's more stronger to hold as the 5 c is
narrower and it's thinner
In the u.k. when i upgraded my contract the 4s was cheaper than the 5 at
the time

Just to add, I would honestly go with the best I could afford. You can never
go wrong with having the most up to date hardware you can buy. Especially when
using a resource intensive app like a screen reader.

Hi,
one other thing to consider is future proofing. the iPhone 4S Is already 2
years old, and by this time next year, I would imagine IOS 8 users will be
experiencing some definite lag and performance issue like the IPhone 4 users
now.

It's true there's a bigger jump when going to the 5s, but the 5C is still

always impressed with my wife's 5C at how snappy it is
I'm not unhappy with my 4S, but it is getting long in the tooth. It's
the only iPhone with a 30 pin connector still being manufactured and
sold by Apple. There's a chance that IOS 9 will not support the 4S. I
expect to be moving up to a new iPhone next fall, but if I were to buy
an iPhone today
Probably not. I have a 4s here and it's brilliant. Yes there's a delay
in opening apps but nothing substantial to make me regret the phone. It
was an upgrade from the 4 which I sure now regret thanks to it being
slow throughout under iOS 7.

In terms of accessibility, the main advantage will be the updated camera for
OCR, bill identification, bar code scanning, and the like. Overall, of course,
the 5C will run faster and simply perform better. That is not an accessibility
feature per se, but it is worth considering as it will impact
