Well, if just got a blunt reply from Orbit Research:
“ Greetings from Orbit Research!
As of now Orbit reader, 20 Braille display will not be automatically connected
with Mac Book on the log-on screen when we turn on the Mac Computers.”
So, I will carry on logging in with my Apple magic keyboard
Space with low h, dots 2,3,6 toggles the input mode. Just keep pressing it to
go through the modesIt has to be on, and connected. Did you say if you are
connecting via USB or bluetooth?

VoiceOver comes on immediately my Mac starts up so my orbit reader should
connect. The display is set to 6 dot UEB BY DEFAULT. Is there a Braille command
to change to 8 dot and tgen back to 6 dot? And is such a command executed while
the orbit reader 20 is turned on? Off? Or when I’ve opened the
VoiceOver has to be running before the braille display can do anything.On an
iPhone, I can enter my passcode by switching to 8 dot brl.When does VO load on
your Mac?If it is on before the password, I would think it would work. Perhaps
time to call Apple?
