You can lock orientation in the Control Center. Touch the top of the screen and when you hear the time or anything else in the status bar, do a three finger swipe up. You'll see the lock orientation in the list. Note this is true for any phone running IOS 7 and not just the 5C.

To change to touch typing mode, double tap in an edit field to give it focus. Use the roter to get to the typing option and then flick up or down to toggle between standard or touch typing.

Just my $0.02, but I'd suggest one topic per message and using a more descriptive subject line. You'll get more attention to your question that way and it'll be easier for others to search for answers in the future.
