Hi all, and thank you for the help. I just connected my iPad to iTunes, and it
says sync not available. Transfer purchases not aailable. The only things that
are available are Restore from backup or setup iPad as a new iPad. I told
iTunes to trust this computer.

Hi Wren,
Did you answer the prompt about trusting the computer on both the computer and
iPad? If so, try disconnecting your iPad, restarting it, and restarting iTunes.
That has worked for me in similar circumstances.
