Terri, You can jailbreak older Apple TV's and maybe you can jailbreak the fourth gen, if you really want to do it just Google "JailbreakingApple TV 4th generation" and you will find out. You asked what the benefits would be, in fact, I was going to ask you why you would want to do this when I first saw your message, but then I read your question and what I wondered is why you would want to jailbreak if you don't know if there are benefits or what they are. One thing I noticed is that on the Today in iOS Podcast as well as on this list jailbreaking rarely comes up any more, it used to be mentioned a lot, but probably since iOS 9 and 10 it just seems to be something most people just don't do any more because of the increased capabilities of iOS. I assume iOS 11 which adds even more customization and now built-in screen recording will take even more reasons away for jailbreaking. You seem to be a big TV fan which I am not so maybe that is why you asked, but without wanting to sound condescending, I would suggest that you seem to be somebody who does not do well when things change all the time and become unreliable. I think you pointed this out yourself and that it sometimes takes you a while to understand how something works etc. In all honesty I don't think jailbreaking is something you would enjoy, it's an advanced process which may result in an uncertain outcome, if you jailbreak and then a new Watch OS comes out which has some really nice features you may not be able to upgrade without loosing the jailbreak because often whe Apple releases an update it patches whatever makes jailbreaking possible and then the jailbreak community has to figure out again how to get around this etc. The question remains, why do you even want to jailbreak? What do you hope to gain?

Hello everyone, Over the last few years I have heard people talking about jail-breaking their iPhones, and I believe, iPods as well. What I am wondering is, can you possibly jail-break a 4th generation, Apple TV? If you can do this, will it possibly take away any of the accessibility features? Also, if this can be done, what would be some of the benefits of doing this? Any thoughts, or advice would be very much appreciated.
