Interesting, I never remembered getting that message. Wayback win when my eye
cloud storage was more than I thought, when I investigated, old photos were
there, so after deleting from the photos I always made it a habit to find the
deleted photos album and removed from there also. In that album

Find the photos that you want from within photos, you can either flick down on
the photo and hit the delete button, or you can open the photo and find the
delete button and double tap on it in the photo will be gone.

there's a toolbar at the bottom of the screen, and one of the buttons on it is
Delete.
