Hi Jane,
A friend told me how to do this and it worked. Take the phone away
from your ear and a number pad comes up. You can dial from there.
I don't know if there's a different way, but this does work. :-)

I believe it's pound followed by the extension number but it's been close to a
year and ahalf sense I needed it so if I'm wrong, somebody please correct me.

If you want to put them in your contacts, just write in the switchboard
number, then put a comma and then fill in the extension numbers. The pause
created by the comma gives the switchboard time to pick up, and then the
extension will dial itself automatically.
