I use UEB contracted for both output and input.

Richard, thanks for the info. Just one more question. Were you writing in
contracted or uncontracted braille? I ask this because if I put my BrailleEdge
in 8-dot modes for both output and input, and write in ASCII braille, I'm less
likely to have cursor-routing problems. I use 8-dot mode to edit
I just did a test with the Braille Edge and my work iPhone 8 plus running iOS
13.1.3.
I wrote a long note in Voice Dream Writer, and in Email.
There was no lag to speak of.
I could use the routing buttons on the display to put me on a word or character
where I needed to make a correction.

I would say the biggest problem I see is not being able to route the
cursor using my braille display. Now, I always have to use VO to make
sure that it is on the correct line; then I can route the cursor. But
it's a royal pain.

tom,
When you say long text editing, what app are you in?
Are you talking text messages, or other apps?
Knowing that would help trying to ,duplicate the issue.

Tom, I have not taken the plunge to ios 13 because I understand there are many
problems with braille devices. So, am trying to hold off till those bugs are
fixed.

The hotkey to go to the status bar is broken for all keyboards, QWERTY and
Braille.
Write Apple Accessibility.
The more they get reports, the sooner it will get fixed.

Hi Tom,
I am having trouble as well. I can tell you that this trouble has been the same
since betas started, and nothing has seemed to change. I’m really frustrated
about it, and have reported it several times.
