Simply double tap on the group to expand. To "show less", double tap on the
appropriate button.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what your problem is, but I have 12.1.
Anyway, regardless of which I have had, I check my Home Page periodically, and
if there are Notifications, it will say so.

hi Ellen, when you get to the group of notifications that you are interested
in, let’s just say it is USA today, then do a double tap. Right then voiceover
should say expanded. Then flipped to the right and you should get all
notifications from USA TODAY.
then, if you flipped back to the left,
double tap on the group to expand it. You should see all of the other
notifications.
