Hi Davy,
My guess is that Screen REcognition is on. Open Chrome and do a two-finger
quadruple-tap to bring up VoiceOver quick SEttings. Find Screen rEcognition,
and turn it off.

Same here. The only issue I am having is with my google home and apple music. I
get the message the song/artist is playing... but nothing. I've tried resetting
