Hey Ann. Please let me know if you already have this issue resolved or not, if you do not I'd be happy to help you with it, while my issue was not identical to your own I did have some issues on one of my computers when I installed iTunes 11.1, more specifically when I chose to install the iCloud Control Panel which is optionally included during the update process.
