I figured out what I did to cause my iPhone 5 to speak the caller's name
when talking with someone using my earpods. I changed a setting in VoiceOver
to turn on Speak Notifications in Locked Screen. Since the calls where I was
having the problem were taken while walking with my phone in locked mode,
the phone was notifying me of the caller's name based on that setting. I
know better than to change the default setting which is off for this item
but as I say, live and learn.

To get to this setting, select Settings, General, Accessibility, VoiceOver,
and it is the last setting in that section.

Subject: iPhone 5 Setting to Turn Off Caller Identification and Time Elapsed
During a Call

I hope someone can help me turn off this setting. When I receive or make a
call with my iPhone 5 and I'm using the earpod headset that came with the
phone, I get an announcement identifying the caller's name and time elapsed
every few seconds during the call. This is very annoying and I can't believe
it would be a default setting. I've scoured the various sections of the
Settings app but I can't for the life of me figure out how to turn this off.

Any help in directing me would be greatly appreciated.
