Hi, Alex, Your Apple ID doesn't have to be used for your iCloud address. Just use your iCloud address, assuming you have one already. If you don't you'll be prompted to set one up. I use a gmail address for my Apple ID, but it doesn't come into play at all in iCloud mail except as a sign-in ID.
