On the left of the phone on top of the volume switches. That's where it is
located on my phone. I am not sure if it is somewhere else in iPhone 5.
Talking about the defendor, I don't think it would matter even if you didn't
have one. I keep dropping it all the time and I have no defendor. It's

Have you checked the mute switch under the flap on the top of the left side
