I do not believe you can copy files to an external drive via a cable with iOS
12.

thanks for replying. so, since my ios 12 cannot run ios 13, that's why
i am looking for otg.
for the reply on the other thread, i tried searching for otg for email
archives but since i didnt find enough info that's why i asked. Could
you point me where you replies? under what subject?
I may have answered this under a different thread, but I think that capability
came with iOS 13 and your 5S will not run iOS 13.
