if it is working through notification center, you can read the notifications without using a keyboard. I have also noticed that messages aren't automatically read here either. Perhaps getting hold of accessibil...@apple.com can help. otherwise, not sure what else can be done. -eric on Jun

Hi Jim, Make sure you go to Settings, Notifications, Messages and turn Show in Lock Screen on. Let me know if that does the trick. Also keep in mind that now you have SIRI and if you hear a message but you don't get it, you can ask SIRI to Read my messages or Read my last message.
