Dear listers I’ve had this issue for many months and I hope with each new iOS release that it will be sorted but no luck as yet and I was wondering if anyone else experiences it and may have a fix. Siri can hear me if I get close to the phone’s built in microphone but not when I speak into the earbud microphone. I have a 5S running iOS8.3 (although as I say it’s been a feature for many months) and with the earbuds plugged in the remote can trigger Siri quite happily but then I need to talk into the phone to get her to hear me.
The mic in the remote works for calls (and I have checked with callers that they can hear me equally when I am far from the phone and near so the mic on the remote is definitely working) but no Siri and no keyboard dictation except through the phone’s mic.
