Unfortunately, I had to restore my phone as well. Thank goodness I did
a backup before installing IOS 8. I didn't have my status cells on, as
I never use that feature. Thanks to all for the help! I'll get to
learning this new upgrade on my iPHone 5 until I buy an iPhone 6 in
October.
Again, thanks
Maybe check the volume in your settings. I had an issue where I wasn't
hearing some things on the iPhone and I had to turn the volume slider up
and it was okay.
I've been reading a lot of problems with the new 8 upgrade so I'm going
to wait it out until things stabilize more.

You may need sighted assistance to turn off status cells for you found in
the Braille settings of VoiceOver. This is a serious bug discovered at

I had this problem, and had to reset all settings. My sighted husband had to do
it for me. I'm glad it occurred to me to do this. I had no idea there was a bug
with status cels that caused this issue. Wow, that's major. That explains why
I had it working again and status cells were off.

I do not have voiceover at all on my iPhone 5. Are there any ideas
what I should do? I have already gone to accessibility\Voiceover and
turned it on. I also tried turning it on with Siri. It says that VO is
on, but I don't here a sound.
Stressed out
