What you do to lock your phone in portrait is to first put your finger on the
status bar which is at the top of your screen. That has the time, wifi, and
carrier network information. Now flick up with three fingers. This will get you
into the control center. Flick right until you find lick o

control center. You should find the option to lock the orientation that way.
