Evan, I just got an iPad mini for Christmas, and the setup was no problem. VoiceOver started with triple click home, and you can just follow the prompts from there. I had an older iPad, so I restored an iCloud backup of that to the new mini. In short, no vision was needed. Good luck, Pam
